About
Kia ora, I’m Emma — a child and family health professional with a passion for supporting parents through pregnancy, birth, and the early years. I am a Mum to three busy kiddos who keep me on my toes (having a set of twins will do that to you, three kids in two years — PHEW!)
With all my professional knowledge I went into my first postpartum journey naïve and I struggled with postnatal depression. It was after my first baby that I started thinking. “If I have all this knowledge and I struggled, how do people feel without this”. This is when “Multiple Choice” was born.
With 15 years of experience working in child and family health, I’ve supported hundreds of families as they welcome their babies, navigate postpartum recovery, and adjust to life with toddlers.
I began my career as a nurse and continued to become a midwife, this is when the passion for working in this space really begun which allows me to bring a strong clinical foundation and a deep understanding of the perinatal period
I am also an NDC (Neuroprotective Developmental Care) practitioner trained through Dr Pamela Douglas. This approach prioritises understanding infant cues, supporting parents’ mental health, and responding to babies in ways that promote connection, development, and wellbeing.
My Approach
I believe that families thrive when they feel informed, supported, and heard.
My care is:
• Evidence-based
• Respectful and non-judgmental
• Focused on relationships and attachment
• Tailored to your unique family
Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating feeding challenges, or supporting a toddler through developmental shifts, I offer guidance that is gentle, realistic, and grounded in current research and evidence.
